In regards to all things sexual, Master of Obsidian is not for the faint of heart. The relationship between Jesse and Gideon though, isn’t either. Jamie Craig illustrates the interesting dichotomy with D/s relationships by the manner in which Gideon dominates Jesse yet Jesse really holds the power in their relationship. The world that they live in is a dark, violent world but it’s also their reality and as Jesse comes to grips with what that means, Gideon is his foundation. From one extreme to the next, I enjoyed where Jamie Craig took these two characters and found myself inexplicably drawn to their intensity. I have to admit to being crazy curious to learn more about the woman that changed Gideon's life and desperately hope that more light is shed on that mystery in the upcoming sequel to Master of Obsidian.
